Synopsis

Milo James Thatch, a cartographer and linguist specializing in ancient dialects, works tirelessly in the basement of a museum. Like his explorer grandfather, he wants to discover Atlantis, the legendary lost city.

He is then visited by Preston B. Whitmore, an eccentric millionaire. The latter has in his possession a mysterious manuscript revealing the location of Atlantis and that only Milo can decipher. With Whitmore's funding, he embarks in a huge submarine and joins a team of daring explorers with Captain Rourke at his command. The underwater expedition promises to be successful thanks to the indications provided by the manuscript. What they discover will change their lives forever.
