Synopsis

A strange twist of fate causes the magic ring of the dark ruler Sauron to fall into the hands of the hobbit Frodo Baggins. From that moment on, the times of peace in the idyllic Shire are over, for the future of all Middle-earth depends on the successful destruction of the One Ring.
